Path Unknown

The first call wasn’t a call

It was a road block

The captain of the guard informed me that my return path was unavailable

He didn’t tell me where to go

Even when my path was laid before me, it was not a call

It seemed just an accident that I ended up here

It wasn’t until after I came that I wondered how I had arrived at all

The next turn in the path was not a call either

It was a smash over the head with a heavy hint

How could you not know where you belong?

Sometimes God answers our prayers in the whisper of the wind

And sometimes He just spells it out in a fortune cookie

Even God gets impatient
