Hinoto, Kanoe, & Daisuke
~~~~
Hinoto is tragically blind, deaf, dumb, unable to feel anything
and grotesquely misproportioned. For vestigial organs, her eyes
sure are big. Anyway. She can predict the future in dreams, which
is apparently a fairly common skill in Tokyo, and works as an
advisor to politicians. She gathers the Seals together under the
Diet building and tells them to go fight the Angels. They do. She
basically sits around on her ass and has prophetic dream after
prophetic dream while the rest of them work, fight, etc.
She also seems to have a split personality. And the second
personality likes to try to ruin everything. No one quite knows
yet what the weird little doll-chick is really up to, but it seems
to involve killing the Seals.
I must say...it takes a lot to gain the reputation of "the slutty
one" in a manga where one of the main characters dresses in
lingerie full-time and works as a professional prostitute.
Somehow, Kanoe pulls it off. Perhaps it's because she shows up in
an inordinate amount of pictures stark nude covered only by her
long hair, a la Lady Godiva. Her powers consist *not* of prophetic
dreams (gasp!) but of watching *other* people's prophetic dreams.
So she gets the future second-hand from her sister Hinoto. Her
powers aren't as impressive, but she gets the added bonus of being
able to see, hear, speak, feel, and support the weight of her own
head. Though we suspect that there is some sort of dark magic
involved with her holding up those huge breasts. She gathers up
all the Angels, for some reason we don't know, and leads them to
global destruction. Huzzah.
Daisuke is a hot-headed teenager who controls wind and guards
Hinoto. When he first shows up, he's a dick. Kamui kicks his ass,
and is about to curb-stomp him into manga oblivion when Arashi
shows up and just stands there, causing Kamui to flee in panic.
Anyway, he doesn't believe that Kamui is "the Kamui."
Unfortunately, nobody cares what he thinks. He eventually accepts
it, begins to make real connections with the other characters and
develop a meaningful role, and is promptly decapitated. Repeat
after me: "Sucks to be him."
