Sorata/Arashi is the one nice normal straight relationship. They are of the right age for each other, no twisted motives, on the same side. . . CLAMP is most likely looking back at them right now thinking either, “What were we thinking?! Nothing normal is allowed to be in this comic." Or "Quick how do we screw this up for them?"

This is one of the earliest established relationships in the manga. Long before Subaru or Seishirou were introduced, long before Fuuma went all S&M on Kamui, Sorata was hitting on Arashi. Of course, Sorata is deranged. Having been told that he's going to die for a woman seems to have gone to his head. Rather than attempting to fight this less-than-appealing destiny, he went for the hottest chick he found and decided it was going to be her. Arashi didn't buy it at first, but she gradually warmed up to his dubious charms. After spending a few dozen manga being aloof and cold, she took to mooning around after he'd gone all sweet and wonderful at her, then she totally freaked out when he nearly got killed (on her behalf, I assume, though I've never actually read it) and the two of them had sex in a hospital bed. Which probably didn't help Sorata's injuries. The point is, I'm fairly sure they're both going to bite it in the relatively near future. Either he's going to die for her as prophesied, then she'll get herself killed from grief, or she'll get killed for him, and he'll go... I dunno. Get killed for Karen or something. CLAMP is twisted like that. Besides, when the Stargazer said "You'll die for a woman", he never said that the woman would be alive when it happened. Yeah. They're screwed.
